I had an emergency with my dogs and even tho I didn't have an appointment, the receptionist squeezed us in so that my dogs could be seen that afternoon. Dr Dana always gives us great advise and never tries to add on extra tests or meds to pad the bill. My dogs love him, he has a great bed side manner. Read Less

It's been years since my cat was inhumanely euthanized here, but I am leaving a review because I was so emotionally scarred by my experience at this veterinary facility that I delayed bringing my next animal in for euthanasia at an appropriate time and I think he suffered. About four years ago, my cat (whose cancer diagnosis was totally missed by the clinic) was brought in for euthanasia at this clinic. A quick, poor and pathetic attempt to find a vein was made (I start IVs regularly), then Dr. Dana asked, "Are you ready for this?" I replied, thinking he just meant to maybe do some kind of intramuscular injection, "I guess?" And then he JABBED HER IN THE HEART WITH A HUGE NEEDLE--an intracardiac injection. I was HORRIFIED. My cat looked at me when he did that as if to say, "Mommy, why did you let them do that to me?" and then died. I told one of my best friends, who is a vet in Oregon, about this and he was horrified and said I should report Dr. Dana to the veterinary board of medicine. My cat should have been given anesthetic gasses before she was given that jntracardiac injection and I should have been allowed to leave the room. He should have told me what he was going to do and he DIDN'T. I debated going to be veterinary board of medicine but did not. I did tell his boss, though. Don't know what ever came of that, but I seriously have PTSD from that experience to his day. I am terrified that another vet will do that to my animals. I call vet clinics and make SURE they will gas my animals first. I BAWL my eyes out every time I think of that. So, while I didn't report him for that, I will leave this review. Read Less

I really liked this place at first. They spent time getting to know my dog and everybody working there was very friendly. I used this Vet for over a year and mentioned every time I had my dog checked that he had bad breath and seemed to have trouble eating. They never did a complete check up in his mouth. I took my dog to another Vet and they did a complete oral health assessment. The dental radiographs showed 2 teeth that had diseased tooth roots and he needed them extracted. They were black and obvious to see. I feel so bad that my dog had suffered with this for over a year. His bad breath is gone and health is improving every day. CR Read Less

I called the office back and see if the vet can see My dog again and Robin who answered the phone told me that I have to pay again if I'll see the vet again... Thorough evaluation is what I expected that why I have an annual exam for my dog .. so disappointing ... Beware !! I'll switch Veterinarian .. These people operate under the guise of being a vetinary "hospital" when they don't even have the capacity to provide full services. This was never explained when I took my dog in. He was misdiagnosed. This resulted in prolonged suffering due to my misplaced trust and inexperience. Turned out my dog had severe liver damage from cysts and tumors which resulted in internal bleeding and his death. If your pet needs anything more than a cursory checkup or some shots, DO NOT take them to Taylor Ranch Veterinary Hospital. Read Less

As a former Vet Tech I must say they are wonderful! I looked at a few places before deciding on where to take my new kitty for a check up and a "fix". They were kind, and very sensitive to my feelings as well as my little feline. The place is spotless and clean. S Warm and FRIENDLY person greets you every time. After my cat surgery they even followed up with phone calls as well. For really wonderful service they don't charge all that much as well and I came from Los Gatos where fixing your cat is AT least $600. This is definitely where I will be taking my kitty from now on! Had a pit mix develop lethargic symptoms and bloody vomit stool overnight. We were worried about ingested objects. We called the next morning and got in right away. Doctor came in as I was sitting on the floor with the dog and sat right down on the floor with us. Quick exam and an x-ray later some antibiotics and Nausea medicine later we were working on mending. Prices were very fair, attention paid to pet and owner was excellent. Only downsides were I couldn't find the hours posted anywhere on the web and they don't take American Express credit cards. My pets and I love it here! Dr. Dana is my dog's favorite. They are knowledgeable and they don't overcharge. When I had to put my cat to sleep at age 20, they were so thoughtful and caring. I switched here from VCA where they always over charged and tried to sell me on excessive treatments and tests. The doctors here are concerned about quality of life for your babies and they treat them with the utmost care and respect. Never leaving! Read Less

This vet soaked us for 340.00 dollars! Nothing wrong with the cat... they did a feline leukemia test when we knew our cat didn't have feline leukemia because she'd been vaccinated a long time ago. They gave her an unnecessary pain shot... when the cat never had pain. They just took advantage of an opportunity to run as many tests as they could to run the bill up. This is by far the most caring and sympathetic veterinarian we have ever taken our pets to. A week ago yesterday our chihuahua Princess Dianna got really sick I called several vets and no one could see her, I was at my wits end then I found Taylor Ranch explained what was going on and they told us to come in and they would see her. the assistant was so gentle with princess and when Dr. Dana came in He explained everything in detail and after some test Princess was given a shot and sent home with meds he also gave me the emergency care number and told me if I needed anything to call him. So sad to say our princess did not get any better and Wednesday we had to take her back in and have her put to sleep. I went today and picked up princess's ashes, they were in a small cedar box with a lock and key we were also given a plaque with her paw prints and name on it. When I got back to the house I checked the mail and they had sent me a sympathy card and Dr.Dana had written a beautiful note on the inside. I would HIGHLY Recommend them to anyone. Read Less

I do like the staff and the vet here, they are all friendly. However, this place is very overpriced. They made us wait to spay our dog saying that she needed all her shots first, but the bigger she gets the more we will be charged for anesthesia. They charge a ton for dental work too. Blue Cross does it for WAY cheaper. Read Less

The care here is exceptional. My cat got really sick and having recently relocated to Rio Rancho, I hadn't had time to find the cats a new vet. They were able to get me and my kitty in first thing. The staff was kind, prompt, and professional. Dr. Forsyth is a treasure. He took the time to listen to me, list all of our options, and help develop a plan to move forward. He listened to my cost constraints and personal situation and was gracious and kind. I hope to continue getting my cats regularly treated here. I recommend this clinic based on the staff and their exceptional quality of care provided. The only drawback is that they don't have any payment plan option unless your bill is over $500 (at that point they do accept carecredit). While it can be difficult to come up with that kind of dough, especially when it's due to unforeseen circ*mstances, you can rest assured that your pet will receive the highest quality of care at Taylor Ranch Animal Hospital. Let me start by saying this review is of the owners of Taylor Ranch Veterinary Hospital, not the doctors. We have spent thousands of dollars over the years at this business treating our three dogs. The doctors are great but the owners will not allow the staff to fax prescriptions to 1-800-Pet-Meds so we can conveniently and affordably fill our pets medications (they are of course much more expensive in the vets office). The office will not accept checks and will not let you use Care Credit to pay for your pets bills unless the bill is $500.00 or more. The Care Credit policy in particular is the reason we are now looking for another veterinarian office to treat our dogs. Vet bills are not cheap and in the case of an emergency can be outrageous which is why it is sad to see a company that cares more about the bottom line than their clients and their loved ones. Just to note this is a policy of Taylor Ranch Vet and not one of Care CreditCare Credit does not have a payment threshold. The owners should take a little bit of their fortune and purchase some feelings and a heart...oh yeah, and a little compassion :) Read Less

I had great experience with Taylor Ranch Hospital. The doctor there was well informed. They love their animals and make sure they are comfortable. They know that to get down on the floor to their level will make the animal more comfortable. The doctor will stay and make sure you get all your questions answered. If you call back later they will call you back promptly and let you know that if you have to call again it as quite alright and not bothersome. I am from California and never seen service this well.
