The former three-time WWE Women’s Champion has made a huge impact since stepping into the biggest professional wrestling company in the world. In fact, Ronda Rousey has set a very high bar since rising through the ranks in her UFC career. The 36-year-old has been going strong for the past six years and that doesn’t appear to stop anytime soon.
Within the last six years, there’s been plenty of highs involving the “baddest woman on the planet”. Of course, Rousey’s run has been far from perfect, but once all is said and done, the former UFC star can look back at her career and be proud of her accomplishments within the WWE. It’s hard to narrow down only five of Rousey best’s moments in WWE, but this list will focus on the very best moments that defined the former WWE Women’s Champion.
The Rock & Ronda Rousey Confront The Authority
It’s a huge shame that The Rock & Ronda Rousey vs. Stephanie McMahon and Triple H match never came to fruition. Still, this was an epic moment for the former UFC Woman’s Bantamweight Champion. This was the perfect segment to debut Rousey in. The Authority was highly unlikeable during this time. Ronda Rousey was at the peak of her career.
Mix in The Rock, who was highly entertaining, especially when he kept interjecting with what Ronda was thinking throughout. Wisely, Rousey said few words, but her body language perfectly displayed her attitude. The 20-minute segment was nicely built up with the confrontation between Stephanie and Rousey coming off well. The fighting portion was a bit awkward, but it didn’t ruin the segment overall. This gave audiences a taste of what Rousey could do in a WWE ring, and she certainly lived up to the hype.
Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle Vs. Stephanie McMahon & Triple H at WrestleMania 34
A match that exceeded everyone’s expectations. On a card that featured AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair, it’s agreed upon that Rousey’s debut match stole the show with ease. The match layout was simply perfect. It was slowly built up for the big Rousey tag and the former UC star went wild on everyone! Rousey manhandling Triple H was an epic moment.
Of course, everyone played their part well in this match. The tag team match went over 20 minutes and it was entertaining from beginning to end. It helped that the crowd was super hot for Ronda Rousey. This was a fantastic match and easily the most memorable thing on the WrestleMania 34 card.
Becky Lynch Attacks Ronda Rousey
Ok, so this isn’t particularly a great Ronda moment. However, it’ll surely go down as one of the best segments of Rousey’s career. Sadly, WWE fumbled the bag by not giving fans what they wanted – Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35. Still, this was an unforgettable scene that turned Becky Lynch into a megastar and created one of the hottest rivalries that never got a payoff.
Lynch taking out Rousey first was such a boss move. Her conquering the RAW locker room bloody and bruised made the segment even better. It’s a shame Becky/Rousey was forced off the Survivor Series card due to injury. Though it was a joy to witness the rise of Becky Lynch, even if it was at the expense of Ronda Rousey.
Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch Go To War
Fast forward to the final RAW before WrestleMania 35 and the best segment was saved best for last. After Flair, Rousey, and Lynch won their six-woman tag match then it became an all-out brawl between these women. However, what pushed this over the top was the cop car sequence. Rousey and Lynch stare down before their kickfest. Rousey driving a cop car while still in handcuffs; These were incredible moments! This was one of the best segments in RAW history and all three women played a crucial role.
Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35
Admittedly, the match itself was solid, but nothing special. However, to get to the point where women were allowed to mainevent the biggest show in professional wrestling was astounding. Everyone was at their peak around time and putting this match in the main event felt organic. It was great that the final coronation saw Becky Lynch beat Flair and Rousey for the Smackdown and RAW Women’s title. Though not perfect, it will go down as one of the most important moments in professional wrestling history.
