Anna as a school district is very fast growing. The only issues I have with the district is that its administration to me acts a bit counterproductively. Using money to build new unneeded gyms and facilities, rather than using those resources for enhancing the materials. We have broken computers, internet that I’ll just not work for a few hours(which is bad, because we’ve moved to a mostly online environment) and forcing our already underpaid teachers; to pay for erasers, markers and even at times paper.

This is by far the worst school district. God forbid your child is special needs and has an IEP; you will forever argue with incompetent admin and teachers. My child is not thriving here. The elementary teachers give no feedback at all on students behaviors. Teachers ignore students and their needs. My child’s teacher didn’t even know his accommodations and it was the third semester !
My middle schooler doesn’t feel safe as there are constant fights in the hallways and bathrooms and the teachers do nothing. There is one cop that you NEVER see inside the building. Oh and God forbid you live in the Shadow Bend Neighborhood. They make your kid walk to school; completely ignoring the fact that it’s a 20-35 minute walk for most kids. This district sucks. Oh and there are no crossing guards in the morning or afternoon. Mind you Rosemond Shirley is a busy street that leads right to the highway. Literally watched a pedestrian almost get hit when attempting to cross the street.

I moved to anna last summer and I absolutely love it here. Everyone is extremely welcoming, and most students actually try their best when it comes to school. While also the sports here are really good too.
